You don’t have to head up, up and away to get to Georgia’s best hot air balloon festivals.

  • Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival

  • Helen to the Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race, Helen, June

    The South’s oldest hot air balloon event, the Helen to the Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race, takes off from the Alpine Village of Helen each summer as teams compete to be the first to reach the Atlantic Ocean. Aside from the competition, other balloonists compete in events in Helen with balloon flights each day.
  • Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival, Pine Mountain, Sept. 2-4, 2016

    Each Labor Day weekend, guests are invited to go up and away at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain for the Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival. The festival features live entertainment, family-friendly activities, exhibits, demonstrations, music, and balloon launches. There is also a nighttime glow. Callaway Gardens keeps its regular attractions open during the festival.

  • Play at the Park, Cumming, Oct. 1, 2016

    Soar to new heights at the Play at the Park community festival, featuring food trucks, live music and afternoon tethered hot air balloon rides. As the sun goes down, the balloons light up in a colorful glowing display.

  • Harvest Balloon Festival, Flowery Branch, Oct. 15-16, 2016

    Each year, the Harvest Balloon Festival sets up along Lake Lanier, offering event-goers family-friendly fun, including pumpkin carving, festival food, hay rides, live entertainment, and tethered balloon rides. 
  • Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival, Kennesaw, Oct. 21-22, 2016

    Kennesaw University’s Sports + Entertainment Park fills with family-friendly fun each fall as the Halloween-themed Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival welcomes guests from around the metro Atlanta area and beyond. The event features fun for all ages, including trick-or-treating, tethered balloon rides, Oktoberfest beer garden, live music, vendor marketplace, sports bars, artist market, food trucks, roving entertainment, interactive kids area, and a live concert.
  • Harmony Jubilee, Fitzgerald, Nov. 11-12, 2016

    Paulk Park fills with hot air balloons and festival fun during the annual late autumn Harmony Jubilee festival. In addition to balloons, the festival features live musical entertainment, a balloon glow, an art exhibition and sale, wine and cheese tasting, and hot air balloon rides.
